Embodied spirituality regards the body as subject,
as the home of the complete human being,
as a source of spiritual insight …

– Jorge Ferrer

We need a strong back and a soft front.
Strong back means you are grounded and resilient;
soft front means you stay open and tender.

– Pema Chödrön

Body I Am’, our home, responds to attuned gestures of care. – Amongst these gestures is maintenance of our physicality. Mia Day offers us a physiotherapist’s lens as we approach this sacred responsibility.

Mia will address the challenges for practitioners who sit for concentrated periods of time, frequently need to ‘reset’ between clients, and always need to transition between periods of relative stillness and activity.

She will be promoting supportive movement / practices.

We’ve invited her to encourage us toward general fitness as a life (and profession) enhancing orientation.

Throughout, Mia will respond to questions.

There will be practical demonstrations and resources available afterward.

This workshop is open to all PANZA members and those within our wider community who are, or anticipate, offering Psychosynthesis counselling / psychotherapy services.

Mia shares with us: I am a physiotherapist based in Cambridge, working in a private practice where I specialise in helping people restore movement, optimise performance, and return to the activities they love. My professional experience spans a range of settings, from working closely with a premier rugby team to participating in international campaigns with Cycling New Zealand. These opportunities have deepened my understanding of elite athletic performance and reinforced the importance of a holistic, evidence-based approach to rehabilitation and injury prevention.
I am passionate about working with people from all walks of life, whether supporting athletes striving for peak performance or helping individuals regain function and confidence in everyday movement. Promoting physical activity and empowering others to take ownership of their health are at the heart of my practice.
Outside of work, I enjoy keeping active by going to the gym, running, and spending time outdoors. I also value time with family and friends, which helps me maintain balance and perspective. I believe that movement is not just about fitness – it’s about improving quality of life, resilience, and overall wellbeing.
