Join Nichola, as she shares her journey into this evolving field, offering an introduction to psychedelic research and its potential in trauma healing, symptom relief, personal and spiritual evolution. She will share reflections from her time in Oregon—both as a facilitator and as a participant in psilocybin-assisted journeys, how these experiences have shaped her vision for integrating psychedelics into therapeutic practice and how Psychosynthesis may be uniquely suited to this work
Finally, drawing on her experience attending the inaugural Psychedelic Therapy in Aotearoa gathering in March, she will provide insights into the current landscape in Aotearoa: where psychedelic research, training, accessibility, and cultural conversation stand today—and where they may be heading.
This workshop is ideal for therapists, counsellors, and those curious about the therapeutic and transformative potential of psychedelics.

Nichola Beamish is a Psychosynthesis-trained psychotherapist with over 15 years in private practice. While she works with a wide range of clients, her deepest passion lies in supporting individuals through attachment wounding and trauma, inner child healing, and life transitions/crises. Her approach is informed by leading thinkers such as Stephen Porges, Janina Fisher, Dan Siegel, and Richard Schwartz, however Psychosynthesis remains at the heart of her work.
In recent years, Nichola has been drawn to the re-emerging area of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy (PAP). In 2024, she completed a comprehensive 200-hour professional training in Oregon, USA, incorporating both online learning and immersive, experiential components. She is now a licensed psilocybin facilitator in the State of Oregon!
